THE TAKE-OFF
The cubist / HR Ocampo / Paul Klee / Jimi Hendrix period. All pieces here Mel considers his first experimentations in painting.
These were done during his early years working as Art Director in an advertising firm in Manila. These paintings were mostly
reactions against the confines of commercial art.

 

GAINING ALTITUDE
The de Kooning / Basquiat period. The artworks here Mel considers triumphant in a way of like having no fear.
